Do you want to work on government policy attached to some of the most interesting and fastest growing sectors in our economy?

A career with DCMS will put you at the heart of the Government’s agenda – you could be working on data and artificial intelligence, television licencing, sports, or providing support across teams in one of our corporate functions.

Driving growth, enriching lives, transforming our future.

We are making the UK the best place for digital investment and innovation; making this the safest place to be online and best place to start or grow a digital business.

From the Arts Council to UK sport, our work reaches across the country and into every community. We are there in the big moments – in the silent reflection of Remembrance Sunday, the celebration of Olympic gold - and in the many small acts of local charity volunteers.

Our policy areas are among the most exciting, innovative and creative in government.

DCMS’s new headquarters in Manchester are now officially open!  It has some fantastic facilities including a wellbeing room, audio visual room, exercise space, as well as changing room facilities if you cycle in.

DCMS have previously been London-centric but as part of the departments Transformation Plan, in support of the Government’s Places for Growth Programme, they hope Manchester will help boost access to a wider pool of talent. DCMS are excited about the opportunities this will bring to the people of Manchester.

James Stanley
“Manchester is a very human city. It’s easy to get around, it has great culture, shops and restaurants and you’ve got some great countryside on your doorstep. The Peak District and the Lake District are a short train journey away and there’s good access to other cities, such as Liverpool, Leeds, York and Sheffield. And if you’re into sport, you’ve got two of the best football teams in the country and Old Trafford cricket ground as well.”

Sarah Mossman
“I really like the DCMS offices here - they are not packed at the moment and they are across two floors in a building in central Manchester. That makes it easy for people who live in different locations to get to work. I have been here for three years and it feels like home. It is a fantastic village-like city. I love that it's not pretentious and it is a very welcoming city.”

James Stanley and Sarah Mossman talk more here about the benefits of working for the Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in the Manchester office.
